How Can You Help?

There are two things that you can do to help us in our mission - you can send us your used baseball equipment for distribution, or you can make a monetary contribution to us to help us in our efforts.

1) To donate your used equipment, no matter the condition, please just mail it to us. We will forward the equipment to the Dominican Republic, and will distribute the equipment on our next trip to the country. Our address can be found in the "Contact Us" section on this website. Please send us an e-mail letting us know how much you are sending, as well as when you are sending it, so that we can be on the lookout for it. Whether it's just a couple of old baseballs and some baseball cards, or whether it's a roomful of bats and other equipment, all of it can be used, and all of it will be appreciated by the Dominican people. No job too big or too small!

2) If - in addition to sending us your used equipment, or in lieu of sending us any equipment - you wish to support us with a monetary donation, please feel free to do so! Your financial support will help to defray the costs of maintaining this website and will help pay the shipping costs and truck rental expenses for our distribution program in the Dominican.

We will take any type of equipment that you have, no matter what the condition! Baseballs and Gloves are always welcome, because they are relatively easy to ship, and are in such short supply. However, we will take bats, logo sportswear, cleats, uniforms, hats, caps, helmets, catchers equipment, anything that you can spare! Just ship it to us the easiest and cheapest way possible, and we will make sure that it gets distributed! The kids also love anything having to do with American baseball, so baseball cards are also always a big hit!

Other Ways To Help
If you are planning a vacation to the Dominican Republic, bring baseball equipment and hand it out! You will not believe the joy a real baseball brings to the face of a Dominican kid! Another easy to transport gift to give away while you visit are baseball cards, which the kids are crazy for! Go during winter baseball season, and take in a game in the Dominican - it will be an experience that you will not soon forget!
Other ways to help include soliciting used equipment on our behalf! If you know of an individual or group that has used baseball equipment, such as a local little league, minor league ball club, amateur league, sporting goods store, and the like, please refer them to us! We are always in need of used equipment! For just the cost of shipping it to us, you get rid of unwanted equipment, and know that it is going to a good cause!
La Casa Rosada
La Casa Rosada is an orphanage for children with HIV. These children have either been abandoned by their families, or their parents have died of AIDS. To learn more about the Casa Rosada, please find their link on our 'Links' page. The Nuns who run the orphanage tell me that they always need childrens multi-vitamins to help supplement their diet and to ensure that they get the vitamins and minerals that they need. There are currently about 60 children at the Casa Rosada, so the standard bottle of 60 vitamins is only good for one day, but if everybody sent in a bottle we could make sure that they have a steady supply! If you would like to contribute vitamins, please mail them to us and we will make sure that they are delivered on our next trip. They are also always in need of various drugs, and you can find a list of the drugs that they need on their website.
